What is charge?
Electric charge is a fundamental physical property of matter that causes it to experience a force when placed in an electric field. It can be positive or negative and is measured in units of coulombs (C).
The two types of electric charge are positive and negative. These charges are equal in magnitude but opposite in sign, and they interact with each other through the electromagnetic force.
Electric charge can be created through a process called charging, which involves transferring electrons from one object to another. This can happen through friction, contact, or induction.
Static electricity is the buildup of electric charge on the surface of an object, while current electricity is the flow of electric charge through a conductor. Static electricity is typically short-lived and does not involve a continuous flow of charge, while current electricity can be sustained and used to power devices.
Electric charges interact with each other through the electromagnetic force. Like charges repel each other, while opposite charges attract. The strength of this force depends on the magnitude of the charges and the distance between them.
