Drinking hot coffee - a custom in Italy

I stumbled upon an unexpected youtube video featuring a young man and his trip to Italy. In the clip, he daringly decided to add a few ice cubes to his cup of hot coffee he just ordered, only to be abruptly interrupted by the vigilant store owner. We often don't see how odd things are when we get used to living with them..
