What does it mean for exergy to be consumed ?. An article in Energy and Buildings 2008 tilted "Exergy concept and its application to the built environment" by Shukuya Masanori, stated that exergy of a system can be defined as that portion of energy which allows for dispersion of energy and matter. So what does it mean then for exergy to be consumed say for example by a cooling HVAC system that's design to keep "cool" exergy (exergy that allows heat from the environment to flow into the system) at a desired level.
Note: When energy or matter is dissipated in the macroscopic environment it eventually changes from one energy form to another.
