Have religious people got it easy?

In summary, many religions teach that following God's commands and being sociable and helpful leads to contentment and entrance into Paradise. However, if God had given more difficult or harmful commands, people may not have been as willing to follow them. People tend to only listen to what they want to hear.

Many religions require people to do good for the sake of God. They only have to follow His commands and live peacefully. They are told to be sociable and help each other and when they are upon the 'truth,' they find contentment. And once they do this, they get Paradise.

Had God said that the only way to enter Paradise would be to kill somebody, chop off your own hand, or fore go your relationship with your parents - it would have been harder. Or if God said you must force someone to Hell if you want to go to Paradise by deceiving them and hiding the truth from them, that would make things very different as well.

That makes sense. If you wish for something, you will want it. Good, but that is nothing to do with this thread.
