Re: have you ever been ragged at college?

I experienced a form of hazing called the Shellback Initiation in the summer of 1982 while serving in the U.S. Navy. This happens when a vessel crosses the equator. Good times...(Rofl)

I don't condone hazing though...(Wasntme)

I don't know how things work in India, but I can safely guess you won't have any problems. Hazing generally takes place in special groups that you must try to join and are highly competitive. In the US this applies to fraternities, marching band and sports. I wouldn't worry about it at all if you going as a math/science student.

As a scientist, my focus is on conducting research and studying the natural world. However, as a human being, I can understand your concerns about ragging or hazing at college. This is a serious issue that can have negative impacts on students' mental and physical well-being.

I have not personally experienced ragging or hazing during my time in college. However, I am aware that it is a common occurrence in some educational institutions. It is important to note that ragging or hazing is a form of bullying and can have serious consequences for both the victim and the perpetrator.

I am glad to hear that your college has an anti-ragging committee and a zero-tolerance policy in place. It is essential for educational institutions to have strict measures in place to prevent and address any incidents of ragging or hazing. As a society, we must understand that such harmful practices have no place in a learning environment and should not be tolerated in any form.

I would encourage you to stay vigilant and report any instances of ragging or hazing that you may witness or experience. It is the responsibility of every individual to speak up against such behavior and create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all.

In conclusion, I hope that your college takes necessary measures to prevent and address any incidents of ragging or hazing. Education is meant to be a positive and enriching experience, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that it remains so for everyone.
