How did you find PF?
I tried to search for an explanation of Experiment 18 "Determination of Young's Modulus by Bending a Beam" in the 1959 version of Tyler and Expt 15 in the 4th Edition. I can't follow it, but I've discovered the 4th edition has a typo and that was causing me difficulty. The google search brought me here, but I can't read the answer. I so hope someone can clear this up for me please.

Physics news on Phys.org
Welcome to PF, MissP.

The New Member Introduction forum is just for that, brief introduction threads. To ask a schoolwork-related question like this, start a thread in the Homework Help / Engineering or Introductory Physics forum and list the Relevant Equations and show your attempt to work the problem. I will send you a separate DM with tips on how to use LaTeX to post your math here at PF.

We also seem to have a problem with some uploaded photos presenting sideways (as in your post above). If possible try to use a scanner instead of your phone when creating images to upload, or perhaps try to take the photos in portrait mode.

Welcome again to PF!

Hi everyone, I'm just a physics enthusiast. I took some first-year courses a long time ago, but I wasn't able to continue, so I don't have a degree. Still, I'm really passionate about the subject and try to keep up with it as much as I can. I mostly study in my (limited) free time, going through books I didn’t get the chance to read when I was younger. Thanks for your attention!
