How Can Background Influence Tutoring Approaches in Physics?

In summary, a person's background can greatly influence their approach to tutoring in physics. Factors such as their education, cultural background, and personal experiences can shape their teaching style and methods. This can impact the effectiveness of their tutoring and the understanding of their students. It is important for tutors to be aware of their own background and how it may affect their approach, in order to effectively help their students succeed in learning physics.

How did you find PF?
I found Physics Forum through a Google Search for information on Calculus of Variations, which I am self-studying prior to tutoring this topic.
Hi,

I am new to this forum, I have joined to contribute as much as I can to help others with physics questions, and to learn from others as well.

I wish you luck with this effort, Caroline. I've tried for many years to teach this topic with very limited success..

What is the background/interest source for the person you will tutor? That can have an impact on the best way to approach the topic.
