Could anyone tell me approx how much circuit design engineers would cost, or where I could find ones that I could hire? Thanks
Just some round numbers, depending on where you are geographically, etc. Here in Silicon Valley, you will pay between $75-$150 per hour for consulting design time (more for specialties like IC design), and getting a prototype run of PCBs fabricated, built and tested will run you a couple hundred dollars a board, plus the cost of the components. A simple circuit might take only about 40 hours to design and get into fabrication. A more complex circuit will take a couple of months of work to design.NeedBioInfo said:Could you tell me (approx) about how much a single custom circiut board would probably/possibly cost? A circuit design engineer is responsible for creating and developing electronic circuits for various devices and systems. They use their knowledge of electrical engineering and computer science to design circuits that meet specific requirements and function efficiently.
To become a circuit design engineer, one must have a strong foundation in electrical engineering, including knowledge of electronic circuits, microprocessors, and computer-aided design (CAD) software. Critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail are also important skills for this role.
Circuit design engineers use a variety of tools, including simulation software, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other testing equipment. They also use CAD software for circuit design and layout, as well as programming languages for microcontroller programming.
Circuit design engineers can work in a variety of industries, including consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace, telecommunications, and medical devices. They may also work in research and development or for government agencies.
Some common challenges faced by circuit design engineers include meeting strict design specifications, ensuring circuit reliability and safety, and managing project timelines and budgets. They may also face challenges with component availability and compatibility, as well as troubleshooting and debugging complex circuits.
