Strong anisotropic scattering in multigroup Monte Carlo neutron transport can be challenging, particularly when using the P1 approximation. The discussion highlights the need for careful selection of scattering matrices, specifically when dealing with parameters like p0 and p1. Participants suggest exploring alternative methods or adjustments to the scattering matrix to improve accuracy. Additionally, the importance of validating results against known benchmarks is emphasized to ensure reliability. Addressing these challenges is crucial for enhancing the effectiveness of neutron transport simulations.

Hi everyone! I wonder how to deal with Strong anisotropic scattering when using P1 multigroup mc neutron transport? for example when p1=1 p0=0.3 (p0 p1 :0/1 order scattering matrix)?

What type of energy is actually stored inside an atom? When an atom is split—such as in a nuclear explosion—it releases enormous energy, much of it in the form of gamma-ray electromagnetic radiation. Given this, is it correct to say that the energy stored in the atom is fundamentally electromagnetic (EM) energy? If not, how should we properly understand the nature of the energy that binds the nucleus and is released during fission?
