I read a book that he authored, with much about Fermilab. (I believe it was "the God Particle"). It was very good reading. Fermilab is right here in Illinois. (I live in Chicago). May he rest in peace.

RIP. I met him a few times when I was a summer student at Fermilab.
In addition to his work in particle physics, he was an advocate for "Physics First"

A few years ago, I was sad to read that he was suffering from dementia and his family had to sell his Nobel Prize medal to help pay for his health.

He continued to advocate for "Physics First" concept in schools after he left Fermilab and went into teaching (he was a distinguished professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology for several years). His influence goes well beyond his work in physics.

Zz.
