I loved working through Alexander and Sadiku's book Fundamentals of Electrical Circuits. However, what attracted me the most about the book was the way the authors drew the electrical circuits. I copy and paste two typical drawings, hoping I am not violating anything.

Does anyone know the electrical drawing software (app) with which the above circuits were drawn?

Many thanks.

I would guess edrawmax. But I am not sure.

Why don't you ask the authors? You have little to lose by sending a polite email.
Don't be surprised if they don't know. Graphics is often outsourced.

I had written to the authors but, as you feared, got no response.

I have tried Edrawmax quite extensively @.Scott . The "look" of components are different to those of the book.

Do you really care about matching that "look", or do you want to just be able to draw circuits ("schematic capture") with a free program?

I'd like you to have a look at the diagrams I captured from the book. I'd like that professional look, yes.

I don't think it's CAD (schematic capture). I think it's graphics (drawing) SW. But I certainly could be wrong. It's unusual to see subscripts for the reference designators in CAD programs.

I think there is a program called PSpice that might fit your need.

Related to Name of software for drawing electric circuits

What is the best software for drawing electric circuits?

There are several popular options for drawing electric circuits, including AutoCAD Electrical, KiCad, Eagle, Fritzing, and LTspice. The best software often depends on the specific needs of the user, such as ease of use, available features, and cost.

Is there any free software available for drawing electric circuits?

Yes, there are several free software options available for drawing electric circuits. Some of the most popular ones include KiCad, Fritzing, and LTspice. These tools offer a range of features that can be suitable for both hobbyists and professionals.

Can I simulate circuit behavior using these software tools?

Many circuit design software tools include simulation capabilities. For instance, LTspice is well-known for its powerful simulation features. KiCad and Eagle also offer simulation functionalities, although they might require additional plugins or tools to perform advanced simulations.

How user-friendly are these circuit design software tools?

The user-friendliness of circuit design software can vary significantly. Tools like Fritzing are designed to be very beginner-friendly with an intuitive interface, while others like KiCad and Eagle might have a steeper learning curve but offer more advanced features. Tutorials and community support can greatly enhance the user experience.

What file formats are supported for exporting circuit designs?

Most circuit design software supports a variety of file formats for exporting designs. Common formats include Gerber files for PCB manufacturing, as well as PDF, PNG, and SVG for documentation and sharing. Specific software may support additional formats, so it's important to check the documentation for details.
