Here is a link to a recent (and good) Sean Carroll podcast with Nick Lane.
I consider Nick Lane to have one of the most interesting views of Origin of Life issues.
I consider his perspective to be biochemical and biochemical pathway heavy, which is very useful for these issues of coordinating molecules.
He also has a good understanding of the energetic issues involved in the advantages of eukaryotic cells.
He has a book about to be released on the Krebs cycle and power for cellular functioning. Krebs cycle reactions are involved in both the formation of eukaryotes and the origin of life.
Lane talks well and Carroll does a good job of interviewing him (from the perspective of a physicist).
