Our 'Old Year' hike.

There was some nice fog and frost at higher elevation:

The meadows had their own charm:

...and at the end of the hike, already at dusk there was this frozen lake, with kids playing:

The midnight/new year usually with lots of fireworks and noise, so we just locked in the cats and went to sleep early.

The OP for this said it is Steve Jobs lighting a joint for his dad in 1972.

I'm a little suspicious about that being Steve Jobs -- the face looks rather feminine (but I don't have a photo to compare it to).

Also, does anyone recognize the wall decoration now that it is enhanced?

I do think he's the young man in the color photo.

It looks to me like it might be the Chinese symbol Shou. They say it is often displayed inside of a circle and is the symbol for longevity

There are a few variations on how this is written. And I know nothing about the Chinese language.
