I'm not sure that is his true intent. I think the OP is more likely to show off a peculiarity of a stirling engine (or indeed this particular design of stirling engine) than anything else. I have never had such a device in my hands and so I feel a bit in the weeds. Heat experiments are always time consuming and finicky and then there is always some reason they need to be repeated (endlessly). Good luck!
