The discussion centers on the challenges of solving the Riccati equation presented as dx/dt = 2a²*x(t)² - 2b*x(t) - c²(y)t for a thesis. The original poster expresses frustration after unsuccessful attempts with Wolfram Alpha. A key point raised is the ambiguity of the variable y in the equation, prompting questions about its role. Participants are encouraged to provide insights or alternative methods for solving the equation. Clarifying the equation's components may lead to a more effective solution strategy.

Im trying to solve ot for my thesis but i can't seem to find the answer:

dx/dt = 2a²*x(t)² - 2b*x(t) - c²(y)t

Thanks in advance for your help!

Edit: I already tried to solve it using wolfram alpha without success :(
