Well, if you do that then the first equation reduces to the trivial 0=0. But in general I don't think there is a pedagogical advantage. I would just stick with the standard expression for the spacetime interval.neopolitan said:Ok.

St2 = Sh2 - Xt2
and so
Sh2 = St2 + Xt2
