How did you find PF?
Suggested by AI as sounding board for my conjectures.
Allowed to think?

Probably be a good idea to read the rules that you agreed to when you signed up. In particular:
  • ChatGPT and AI-generated text
    • Posting AI-generated text without attribution is categorically disallowed and will lead to a warning and an eventual permanent ban with continued use.
    • Answering a science or math question with AI-generated text, even with attribution, is not allowed. AI-generated text apps like ChatGPT are not valid sources.
    • Threads about the technology and cultural impact behind AI like ChatGPT are allowed
    • Usage of AI-generated text output in entertainment threads in General Discussion with attribution is allowed.
  • Speculative or Personal Theories:
Physics Forums is not intended as an alternative to the usual professional venues for discussion and review of new ideas, e.g. personal contacts, conferences, and peer review before publication. If you have a new theory or idea, this is not the place to look for feedback on it or help in developing it.

For further explanation of our policy on personal theories and speculative posts and the history behind it, see the following entry in the Physics Forums FAQ:

Pretty ironic that an AI chatbot would recommend PF for personal theory discussions. Yet another fail by AI...

On the topic of personal theories:
  1. As mentioned, we don't do this on PF.
  2. Many people who think they are excellent amateur theorists are not any good at it.

Shouldn't that be "essentially all" instead of "many" ?

"All" is merely a specific edge case of "many", so Vanadium50 is correct.

Asking for clarification by the OP.

Never mind the AI comment, what does "Open Rate" mean? And what does "Allowed to think?" mean?

When I searched on that phrase, the returns were about e-mail or other electronic contact open rates. For example, you send out an e-mail blast to a group, and the open rate tells you how many folks actually opened and read it. Similarly for social media, the open rate would tell you how many people paused on or clicked on your post on FB or similar.

I took it as a clever title for an introduction post, since a high open rate on his introduction post would imply that people were intrigued by the title. Looks like this newbie got you to open the thread...
