In summary, self-created metal composites are a newly developed technique for creating metal composites through a self-assembly process. This involves mixing metal particles with a liquid polymer and allowing them to form into a composite structure. This method offers numerous advantages, such as increased strength and flexibility, as well as the ability to create complex shapes and structures. Additionally, this technique reduces the use of harmful chemicals and energy typically required in traditional fabrication methods.

Thank you for kind words! This hand was created using completely new technique: Self-Created Metal Composites. It was very first experiment of this kind.

This is something that is coming after the short era of 3D printing: Self-Created Metal Composites.
Now anyone can create rocket engines at home, for just a few bucks

Feel free to start a thread in the technical forums with more information about your fabrication techniques. I think many folks here at PF would be interested (probably the ME forum is the best match).

Please do be careful not to post links to your blogs, though, since they are not a good match for PF. Thank you.

FAQ: What is Self-Created Metal Composites? A New Technique for Fabrication

What is self-created metal composites?

Self-created metal composites (SCMC) is a new technique for fabricating metal composites using a self-assembly process. It involves mixing metal particles with a liquid medium and allowing them to self-assemble into a desired structure.

How does the self-assembly process work in SCMC?

The self-assembly process in SCMC is a spontaneous process driven by the interactions between the metal particles and the liquid medium. The particles are able to arrange themselves into a desired structure without the need for external forces or equipment.

What are the advantages of using SCMC over traditional fabrication techniques?

SCMC offers several advantages over traditional fabrication techniques, including lower cost, faster production time, and the ability to create complex and precise structures. It also allows for a wider range of materials to be used, including metals that are difficult to fabricate using traditional methods.

What applications can SCMC be used for?

SCMC has a wide range of potential applications, including in the aerospace, automotive, and medical industries. It can be used to create lightweight and strong materials for structural components, as well as for functional materials such as sensors and catalysts.

What are the potential future developments for SCMC?

As a relatively new technique, there is still much research being done on SCMC and its potential applications. Future developments may include the use of different types of metal particles and liquid mediums, as well as the incorporation of other materials such as polymers to create hybrid composites with unique properties.
