What is the voltage allowed Earth to Nuteral

In summary, the conversation discusses the issue of neutral to earth voltage in electrical equipment systems, with the normal acceptable voltage being 1.4 to 2 volts AC. The speaker's requirement is for the voltage to be 0 volts and they are seeking help on how to achieve this value. The thread is then closed, with a reminder to contact a licensed electrician for professional advice.

Hi
Normally our electrical equipment systems neutral to Earth voltage showing 1.4 to 2 volts AC.
Our requirement neutral to Earth is 0 volts.
How to achieve this value ,please help me.
What is the normal acceptable voltage of neutral to earth.

@putta -- Your previous thread (although it was 5 years ago) was closed because it seemed like you were refusing to contact a licensed electrician to help with your electrical issues. Is this the same situation again? I recall that you said you are in India, so most of us will not be familiar with your local electrical codes. In any case, you should contact a local electrician to help you with this problem.

Thread will be closed for now. If I'm missing something, please send me a PM and maybe we can re-open this thread. Here is the last post from your previous thread:

That is scary.

That is good advice @jim hardy . Do not try to get professional electrical advice on a web forum as a substitute for hiring a competent professional electrician.

Thread will remain closed.

FAQ: What is the voltage allowed Earth to Nuteral

What is voltage?

Voltage is a measure of the electric potential difference between two points in an electrical circuit. It is measured in volts (V).

What is the Earth's neutral voltage?

The Earth's neutral voltage, also known as the ground voltage, is typically considered to be 0 volts. This means that it is at the same potential as the surrounding environment.

Why is it important for the Earth to have a neutral voltage?

Having a neutral voltage on Earth is important for electrical safety and stability. It helps to prevent electric shocks and ensures that electrical systems function properly.

How is the Earth's neutral voltage maintained?

The Earth's neutral voltage is maintained through a combination of natural processes, such as the flow of ions in the atmosphere, and man-made systems, such as grounding rods and electrical grounding systems.

Can the Earth's neutral voltage change?

Yes, the Earth's neutral voltage can change due to various factors, such as lightning strikes, power outages, and changes in the Earth's magnetic field. However, these changes are typically small and do not significantly affect electrical systems.
