When you have no idea how to work out a problem

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers around evaluating the expression y = sin(x)/n for n = 3 and x = 3. Participants engage in a mix of serious evaluation and humor, with one contributor jokingly manipulating the equation to suggest y = 6. However, another participant corrects this by stating that since π is approximately 3, the expression actually evaluates to 0. The conversation highlights the importance of maintaining focus on academic discussions in the homework section, with a reminder to keep jokes in designated areas.

E hehe nice joke but this seems to be intended for the general discussion/jokes section. I think some moderators though they might find this funny, won't be very happy that you post it here.

Wrong. Since ##\pi=3##, the expression evaluates to 0.

@docnet, please don't post any more of these groaners in the homework sections...

Yes, we already have a thread Bad Math Jokes. That's the place for them.

Thread 'In the early days of electricity, they didn't have wall plugs'
Hello scientists, engineers, etc. I have not had any questions for you recently, so have not participated here. I was scanning some material and ran across these 2 ads. I had posted them at another forum, and I thought you may be interested in them as well. History is fascinating stuff! Some houses may have had plugs, but many homes just screwed the appliance into the light socket overhead. Does anyone know when electric wall plugs were in widespread use? 1906 ad DDTJRAC Even big...
