Why is 'kitsch' spelled with a 'c'?

In summary, the word "kitsch" is spelled with a "c" because it originated from the German word "kitsch," which also uses a "c." It is believed that the word was derived from the verb "verkitschen," meaning to produce or sell something cheaply and in poor taste. The use of the "c" instead of a "k" may also be attributed to the influence of the German language in the development of the word.

I wanted to say "Hello again!" and found this (in Germany and on German famous song)

by a South African we more or less adopted ...

... but it might be a bit exaggerated. And by the way, why do you write "kitsch" with a "c" according to my dictionary?
