It's ok SOS, not sure about hypatia, but Moonbear and I are both dateless.

I always enjoyed Constant Comment when I was in my teens (orange with a bit of spice).

Wolram, I can come early and help stuff mattresses, and I'm quite handy with a needle and thread.

Oh, you are a dear, but i could not impose of your skills, fear not the party
will be a spiffing do, as long as you can take the rough with the smooth.

Thanks brewnog :blushing: (though I'm not sure about the evil laughter). I thought you were married, and maybe a scandalous affair would get me to level 6 of hell. Since this is a rather fancy affair, I'll try not to be too much of a wench.
Oh, then you'll be so disappointed to learn he's quite the confirmed bachelor. He even has a diploma that makes it official now.

I really must learn more about these British customs. I hadn't realized that I only needed to announce that I would be arriving without an escort and one would be conveniently provided. That Wolram chap is quite the considerate host.
My oh My moonbear, i have umpteen chaps, chaffing at the collar waiting to
escort you, i also have my perdie to fight them of.

I do fear the tea may have gone to my good father's head. Either that or he has acquired a new dog in my absence.

[whisper mode]psssssst he's a Afghan X Wolfhound[/whisper mode]

However the dear chaps culinary (that's cooking , dear me what a mind you have) skills are quite exquisite, albeit unusual

Well what ever, he is a wonderful creature, and don't think for one minute
that you are getting an invite, unless you want to join Brewenog in the barn.

I'd love to attend, but I don't think I can go without bringing Zooby along, since I'm coming all the way from California and he'd be devastated if I didn't swing by and pick him up.

But I'm not sure that it would do to have a Zooby at a tea party. They aren't very good with delicate things like doilies and cucumber sandwiches. What are the policies on Zoobies at high tea?

Thanks, that would be quite a bit better. Afterall, with those cucumber sandwiches and such short skirts, it could get downright unsanitary.  :bugeye:

Hey, Brewnog, how often have you had a girl's father suggest the two of you go off to the barn together? :bugeye:  Kia must be so proud to have such an open-minded father.

Yeah. I took it with a pinch of salt, I figured that it can't be that sort of barn. We're probably slaughtering chickens, or something.

Well, I expect that you won't be choking any chickens if Kia is around...wait until she leaves to do that, anything else would be un-gentlemanly. :-p

No worries, Zoobie would love the barn.

Woot! And I get first choice! Got to love a man with a ram that gives tea parties. :!)

What is the average length of a woman's thigh? I tried searching in google and got some rather interesting sites about thigh high stiletto heeled boots. :blushing:

His daughter said, he was her father? But for all we know Kia could be his twin sister?
The internet can be so crule

Actually, he writes in a very manly fashion in all his posts.

My head feels woozy, just what was in that tea? And why are there so many dead chickens?

WOW, stiletto heeled boots, your driving me nuts already, a man of my
quite up brining can only take sooo much, I was going to suggest a short
walk, after the party, through the holt wood and up to beacon hill, it is
beautiful there, it is riddled with mossy hollows, where one can sit in
comfort and look at the stars.

Have no fear, i may have acquired a certain patina, and gathered a few
unique makings over the years, but i promise you i come complete with
handle.

Oh a by the way, old ned has cleaned the barn, and set up our second best
table and chairs, it looks quite cosy now, wol, my ram, and benji, will no
doubt wonder in from time to time, keeping an eye on things, as they do.

That sounds wonderful! I love stuff like that! The mossy hollows sound nice.

I hope the weather is cooler there, it's been in the mid 90's every day here (around 34 celsius). I hate hot weather.

I don't think the "tea" Brewnog is serving is the same as we're getting up in the Wolram's lovely cott. Hmm...perhaps a visit to the stables is in order. I think I'd enjoy seeing the horses, and maybe a riding party could be arranged.

Yes, the weather has gotten too warm even for me. I had to turn on the AC yesterday...the air didn't even seem to move when I stepped outside, it was like a sauna. We had a late-day thunderstorm though that cooled everything off really nicely and I was able to sleep with the windows open again. It's hot again today, but not quite as stiflingly stagnant feeling.

Super-Brew! (TM).

Brewnog's Super-Brew

Take 5 litres boiling water
Pour over 1kg white fluffy elderflower heads, leave bugs into taste
Add:
Eight teabags
5kg sugar
6tbsp citric acid
8 assorted citrus fruit, chopped (with skins)
12 crushed Pro-Plus tablets (optional)

Mash the lot up, leave it to cool, and then strain it through muslin/a big sieve. Rack into bottles. Dilute with water and ice to taste. Freezes well for up to 1 year. Perfect summer drink. Add gin to taste.

Yes the weather has lost its bite somewhat, I am not sure if it is wise, but
perhaps i could take a flask of sherry, and we could have a sip or two
while studying the heavenly delights.
