Hello all,
I have a question about space debris.
The number of space debris in the low Earth orbit is huge. There are more than 170 million pieces of space debris which is greater than 1mm. So in the orbit of the Earth, what is the average distance between 2 pieces of space debris?
Determine the average rate if change of the function y = 2cos(x - $\pi$/3) + 1 for the interval $\pi$/3 $\le$ x $\le$ $\pi$/2
I tried finding the exact values of the two (0 and 0.5) and subbing them into the AROC equation but I keep getting the wrong answer (1.4)

Hi, can someone explain to my how average velocity is in any way significant? Could it not just be avoided or ignored in physics? Here is why:

I haven't had calculus in over 2 years and so I am not exactly sure how to go about this. I am inclined to believe some form of integration would be needed.
