would a common language bring better understanding between various factions around the world? why did esperanto die out? why do we stick with crazy ways for spelling, like, knob,vacuum,phantom why not nob,vakume,fantom?

I just recently delved into a new Langauge [Latin] and this question ran through my mind. How does learning a language differ from learning just any other information? Certianly there is a different process that must take place for one to learn language and actually think in that language...

I am wondering, does it give one an edge to know programming language in Biomolecular Sciences? For instance if a certain analysis, maybe statistical, needs to be done.. and you can write your own little program.. If so, which languages would be the best to master? Visual Basics, C++, Oracle..?

If you could just program in one language for the rest of your life...which one would it be? Python for me. It can do just about anything and the community of users continues to advance it. It is also free and simple.

Can you disprove "real life" mathematically? Then this thread may be a place to ask for translations from people in the know... Can anyone tell me what this means? "Yeah, yeah, and yer mother wears army boots."
