Is there a biological consensus about why some species live so much longer than other species? You can sort of understand aging as a matter of the body just wearing out with time. But that doesn't explain why, for instance, dogs go through a similar aging process as humans (gray hair, arthritis...
This is a companion question to https://www.physicsforums.com/threads/why-su-3-xsu-2-xu-1.884004/
Of course the Higgs mechanism over the standard model produces this low-energy group, SU(3)xU(1), which acts on Dirac fermions (this is, no Left-Right asymmetry anymore).
Is there some reason...
It's very interesting that primes are considered the atoms of numbers, but yet, 1 isn't prime.
It makes sense because one isn't an "atom" for numbers in the multiplication sense. That is,
6=2*3
=1*2*3
=1*1*2*3
=1*...
So clearly 1 cannot be prime.
But in the addition sense, all numbers are made...
There's no question that MWI is an important part of QM, whether we agree with it or not. And consciousness is essential for MWI, it can't be defined without it. For instance, Stanford Encyclopedia https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/qm-manyworlds/#2.2 says:

ok so einstein considered there's a maximum speed in the universe which can not be traspassed and that electrons go at this speed
electrons make orbits around the nucleus at light speed
if you make the atom go close to light speed the elcetrons in its rotation will go at light speed one half...

F=(KQ1Q2)/r^2 • (r-hat)
Why are we multiplying by r-hat?
I understand that the equation helps us calculate the force between two charges.
The book says that r=|r(bold)|
I know that this is the magnitude sqrt(rx^2+ry^2+rz^2)
rx= r with respect to the X position and so on...
Let us suppose that we are modeling a particle traversing some distance in space & that f(x)=x². Let the x-axis be time (hrs) & the y-axis be position in space (miles). What is the instantaneous velocity of said particle at t=4 hours?
Let's assign variables to each coordinate in our x, y...
We know that DNA and other biological molecules have only one chiriality of two possible. Is here any explanation of this or any speculations about this?
I'm doing research on why some galaxies and other phenomenon like Saturn's rings are flat. There seems to be two answers. Here they are in shortened form:
1) When the galaxy is forming, there is some net angular momentum in some direction.Over time, all particles with an angular momentum...
Galaxies that are greater than a distance of c/H metres from Earth have recessional velocities exceeding the speed of light and begin to fade. Thus, theoretical astronomers 3 trillion years in the future will see only the Milky Way in the night sky. What is the reason for this fading of galaxies?
Is the reason the block slides down the plane that the resultant of the normal force N and mg acts along the plane causing it to slide or is it because of the component of mg parallel to the plane acting on the box i.e. mgsin(theta)
In the research paper, a piezoresistive pressure sensor is designed.

I may be misguided here but to my understanding, separate nucleons have a higher mass altogether than the combined nucleus as the potential energy gained from being separated (in the field of the strong force) is being manifested in more mass. If this is true, and if it's not I'd like to know...
in induction motor there is air gap between stator and rotor. the air gap needs to be as small as possible. but some air gap is needed for mechancial reasons.

I'm starting to rethink whether I want to become a physicist or not. The only reason why I want to join a univ is simply for the sake of learning. I just love learning physics, but I don't think that justifies entering a univ.
What should I do in this situation? I do indeed want a job physics...
Yeah... I know many of you people might be laughing but still I don't understand how can we simply reach the conclusion that increasing temperature increases the atomic motion.
Consider this :
When we push something, it moves (don't over think about this one) when we apply torque on something...

also, (a) and b(i). you are welcome to explain the numerical parts too.
I am a outboard mechanic, when i change a new thermostat, i find out there have different temperature,

can anyone teach me the reason of it?
Hello !
I have read several threads on this topic but I don't seem to fully understand the reason for using the reciprocal space in crystallography .
Can anyone please provide more information on this subject ?

2- If your answer to the last question was yes, explain the distinction! if...
I have been deriving multiple Riemann tensors for the past few days (in 2D for simplicity sake) and for some reason, no matter what functions I put in the vector of transformation properties, I always get all 0's for my Riemann tensors.

I'm wondering, why do electrons scatter photons but atoms don't?
I'm presuming it's the electrons that do the scattering.

Hi everyone,
I've been reading transformers and this question came in my mind. I'm unable to find a satisfactory answer.
