I know i have a calculator that is way more advanced that what my class needs and that is my problem.. everyone is using a ti-84 plus or something and I am using a ti-89 titanium... but any ways during a physics lab the class did a simple graph using their ti-84's and as i am trying to convert...
Hopefully I can throw this question in this section, sorry if it should go elsewhere. Seeing as I am studying in engineering, I thought others may have the same calculator and be helpful.
Anyways, I was wondering if there was a way on this calculator to show say 1*_W (unit of watts) in terms...
Has anyone had a chance to use this new model? Also, if I bought the Ti-Nspire, would the CAS version be more useful?
I need to purchase a new calculator for the fall, which would you recommend? I currently have a TI-83 Plus.
Thanks!
OK, this is driving me nuts. I am learning how to use the calculator, and I can make perfect graphs for any function for x using the Y= Editor
For ex. f(x)=y="function"
But how do I make a a function for y? ex. f(y)=x="function"
I jus spent an hour reading the manual and TI-89Titanium for...

Which is best? I have the TI-89 but I am curious about how it compares to the hp50g.
Does the hp have ebook reader apps or note making apps. can the screen resolution be adjusted to increase the size of the character font etc. Does the hp have good 3rd party app support. the TI apps are...
Hello all,
My first post here and sorry it is not very scholarly. lol

Hi,
I was, earlier today, deleting some unused flash applications from my Ti-89 Titanium that were wasting space. Namely the localization things like Cabri Deutsch and Francais and stuff.
After setting it to delete a few files, my Ti-explorer on my computer stopped responding, and and so...
Hi, my cousin just gave me his Ti-89 Titanium calculator so I can use it for my classes which require heavy math, but it has a problem. The calculator will not shutdown and the screen will only go blank for a second and turns back on to its original state when I press 2nd and off to shut it...
[SOLVED] TI-89 integral
Homework Statement
My TI-89 says that
\int \frac{1}{\cos x} dx = \ln \left(\frac{-\cos(x)}{\sin(x)-1}\right)
which is just wrong isn't it??!

The Attempt at a Solution
Hi,
I am pretty good with my calculator, but I am beginning to notice that my ti-89 titanium has many features that I am not making use of when I am working on my physics HW or exams. I am not talking about programs that can be downloaded, but the built-in features.
I am wondering if...
After looking for programs for advanced physics with no luck I decided to write my own.
What I have so far is a simple program to calculate relitavistic velocity:
(v1,v2)
Prgm:Local
Input "Enter velocity 1" .v1
Input "Enter velocity 2" .v2
If v1<0 Then
(v1+v2)/(1+(v1*v2))»vr...
Hi,
I'm trying to figure out my TI-89. So I want to estimate the 40th partial sum of this series:
Sum(40) of (-1^(k+1))/k^4, starting at k=1. My major problem is that I want to use 'k's or 'n's, not 'x's. Is there a difference? I haven't asked my Calc teacher about this yet, but I know that...
is there any quick way to convert numbers to fractions then back to decimals, without changing the mode.
also if i type in log 54, it gives me log 54.
i don't get an answer
even if i put in
ln 32
it gives me ln 32, not an answer.
i've learned to input functional equations and make...
TI-89: Can I Get Commas to Separate "000"?
Is there a way that I can set my TI-89 up so that when it shows large numbers, there are commas separating the "000"?
Thanks,

TI-89 titanium "RandInt"?
for my class we did a quick programming of a coin toss, everyone else has TI-84s and I have the 89 titanium.
How do I go about entering the function "RandInt" onto the program editor?
Help is greatly appreciated!
P.S. anyone who knows where I could download...
I got mine recently, I haven't used it as much, because I still have a TI-83, someone told me that with a 89 you can store equations, notes and it shows all of your work? Is that true, because I heard this from two different individual, and a third person told me that it doesn't show all of your...
So, here's the situation. I recently got a Ti-89 Titanium, and i was trying to put some games on it. I had it plugged into my computer, and i sent Phoenix, Tetris, and Falldown over to it. Going through Var-Link and selecting the program didnt seem to work, so i decided to try downloading an OS...
I had a problem doing derivatives on my TI-89 and found the solution to my problem on this forum. I had x set to a constant instead of a variable. I'm just curious how x was set to this constant in the first place. I've never (that I know of) set it to anything. Just out of curiosity, what...
Right now I'm doing Centroids in my math class. we are given two functions.
X=-y
and
X=2y-y^2.
My question is, how do I graph these two functions on my TI-89 titanium. The Y=editor is displayed as y(x). Is there a way to change it to X(y). I was able to plot it out on paper, but I use...
Hey guys. I posted here to find out how to put the below functions into the Ti-89 Titanium. And how to insert values into them. I know there are some smart people here so I decided ask for some help. Help is much appreciated! Thanks! :biggrin...
The main difference between the two (other than the RPN which I don't care much about as I am already used to using a TI-83 which doesn't have RPN) is that the HP is powerful, and the TI has more 3rd Party support. Of that though, the things I care about most is that you can expand the memory of...
i just bought one of these calculators and so far am loving it. i used to use a ti-84 silver edition and it had statistics tests intervals and distribution things built into it. on the 89 it is not there and i have to install a separate app. but the problem is if the calculator is reseted then i...
I was downloading a new OS onto my Titanium the other day and after it downloaded about 25%, it gave me some error and canceled downloading. Now, my Ti-89 is stuck in a "Waiting to receive..." screen. Left+Right+2nd+On doesn't work, and neither does taking out the batteries and putting them back...
Hello all, I am a high school student, who will be taking Calculus I, I need to upgrade from my TI-84+SE so I am considering either the 89 or the Titanium. The only differences I know of are the memory and the processor speed. Are there any other differences?
Which have you guys used and...

Hey guys, I was wondering...Can I make my voyage 200(basically a Ti-89)...solve for 3 equations and 3 unknowns? If so, how?
Also, I was wondering, can I make it solve 3x3 matricies, which include numbers on the lower 2 rows...but the top row(across)...has i,j,k on it. Anyway to use the...
Okay, when I type in this equation 2(-1.999^2)+5(-1.999) the answer it gives me is -2.003, which would be great, BUT I need it to be more exact, I need it to say -2.002998 (as older calculators do) I've tried all three modes (exact, approx, and auto) and none of them are allowing me more decimal...

Hello!
I would really appreciate any help with this.
I have a lot of graphs etc that I made in excel, and stored as bitmap/jpeg files. I would like to upload these to the calc. It does not matter where, as long as I can retrieve them with some ease.
So far I have learned that I can...
how would i calculate Fourier transform of functions such as 1/(1+t^2)?
because if you try to integrate the product of the above function and e^(-jxt), you would realize it's nonintegrable or something
at least my ti-89 does not calculate it for me.
any other way?
I just got a TI-89 off ebay for the upcoming school year to help with calc and engineering studies. My old calculator was a ti-83plus and I knew that baby inside and out. I am trying to become familiar with the 89 before school starts, but there is one major thing I can't really figure out...
