Mass flow rate, conveyor screw calculations and books

AI Thread Summary
Mass flow rate in conveyor screw transportation is a key focus, particularly for handling HDPE powder with a density of approximately 960 kg/m3 at 25°C. Recommended resources include general engineering guides and textbooks, with Perry's Chemical Engineering Handbook highlighted as a useful reference. For practical applications, it's suggested to consult farm implement manufacturers for power and rate specifications related to material handling. The discussion emphasizes the importance of understanding exit mass flow formulas for effective transportation through pipes. Overall, the conversation revolves around finding reliable information and resources for efficient conveyor screw design and operation.

Any particular class of material(s)?

HDPE powder
density ~aprox 960 kg/m3 at 25 C

If it's just general material handling, loading or unloading hoppers/bins, hit the farm implement mfrs./dealers for power and rates. If it's for extrusion, not my area.

Just for general material handling (transportation through pipe) exit mass flow formula. Not for extrusion or injection molding.
thanks for fast replies ! :)
