In summary, the artist is amazing and the music is great. The Tequila is overrated and not very good.

Ghost pepper shots. Hmmm!
I may even video it, and post, with a ghost mask of course. Let's see if I survive the initial sip, shoot chew cycle first. I tried it before with the extract and it was no big deal, but the frozen pepper bits, I am not sure. Fun, huh ?

You have a potential new friend here. Care to come to RI ? You can call 911, if I spaz, twitch, foam or otherwise lose it when I do it.

Rhody...

P.S I can see it now the first flash mob ghost tequila shot party. It won't last long I am sure, and I may be sued out of existence without liability release forms being signed before dropping shots.

Have you ever taken a 180 hp race bike to a track (having never been to a track before) and used second gear (30 - 120 mph) and lived to talk about it ? I have. Granted I have decent riding technique, years of experience (at normal speed) having ridden most of my life. That adventure was foray into uncharted territory as well. Glad I did it though. I got a buzz that lasted for almost a week because of it. No worries, nothing bothered me, bliss. You can't even describe it, you have to live and feel it. hehe...

rootX,

Patron Anejo Frozen Shot Glass Ghost Pepper shots have become a reality, have a look... The pepper bits when chewed add a nice bite to the chilled tequila.

Give it a try let me know what you think, you can use some decent 25 $ tequila would work too, no sense using high end stuff for an experiment...

Everyone has their personal favorite, mine has been the Anjeo, goldish color from the oak barrels they use to age it in, it is aged longer too, that's why it costs more. It would be cool just once to try the 500 $ and on up stuff, I bet you can't tell any difference.

Patron Silver is wasted on me. It is too smooth and innocuous. And at over $25/pint, it is too pricey, too. I'd rather have a more mundane tequila with a bit more "bite", unless I'm going to mix it, and then the choice of the base liquor widens a bit.

I stopped by a small 'hole-in-the-wall' Mexican restaurant/food shop on the way home this evening. We've kind of started a trend of getting some Mexican food on Friday evening or whenever the mood hits us.

Anyhow, there was a long line of people waiting to order and other collecting take out. So I waited and talked with a friend who just happened to be there picking up a take out order. After about 15 min, the crowds cleared out.

Then one of the people who works there came in. I'm guessing he was out delivering locally. Anyway the guy pops a bottle of Tequila (Avión Silver) on the counter and opens it. He looks around and starts offering shots of Tequila to me and another guy, while we are standing at the counter waiting for our orders. It was good - smooth with a peppery taste.

He gave us a second shot with lime and salt. Nice.

He then brought out a second larger bottle, which was made of blue glass (but I didn't get the name, but it was apparently Milagro Silver). We had a shot each from that one. It had a buttery flavor. This was on the house.

I could have had a beer too, but I thought three shots of tequila was enough for the drive home.

I'm definitely going back to that place!

Funny, Astro, we had Mexican food tonight, over dinner in my mind I ran over all the tequila's I had ever come in contact with that I liked and could afford. I came to this conclusion. Last year I reported that a top tequila can go for $ 5000 a shot. Out of my price range for ever (unless I win the lottery). There must be high end tequila tasting parties where you can sample for a fee some pretty good stuff. I would be willing to may mid three figures for such an event if in fact one exists that I can somehow find my way to attending. So the search is on. If I find such an event, I will report back with details.

Glad you enjoyed you dinner and samples, I am sure it made your evening. FYI. I just started my Trinidad Scorpion seeds after a one day soak today. Would you be willing to try bits of scorpion pepper in a high end tequila shot ? I found the heat not as devastating when consumed this way (for ghost peppers that is). I am pretty sure not many people have experienced this which I am learning to enjoy. I bet Turbo wouldn't mind it either.

Check out this video, it is cool, depending on the glass you use the same tequila tastes different. The interviewer, David Ruiz, claims there are 600 flavors in the Anjeo Tequila being sampled and depending on the glass used it tastes different in each glass, and it registers different depending on what nostril you sniff it with. You decide if it is BS or not. My favorite is Anejo so this video caught my attention.

This looks really good, when I get my new bottle, whatever I finally decide on,
I will be sure to try this too. I signed up for tequila tasting within a one
hundred mile radius from http://tastetequila.com/" .

Give it a shot if you are interested.

I emailed the folks at Tequila tasters, the folks in the past two video's, no response. I guess they don't care about the public, just being famous for fifteen minutes. I inquired about tasting events where they only serve top top shelf tequila. I told them I was willing to pay handsomely to attend. Which leads me to my nest question, this is for any fine liquor, not just tequila.

First, how did you discover the finest liquor you ever tasted, and second what made you spring to actually buy a bottle of it for special occasion's, and finally, gulp, how much are you willing to admit you paid for it ?

I've tried the Bison Grass vodka, too, and really liked it! I tried it with organic apple juice, and it was either vanilla flavoured or vanilla was added, too.
