A case study involves an up-close, in-depth, and detailed examination of a particular case or cases, within a real-world context. For example, case studies in medicine may focus on an individual patient or ailment; case studies in business might cover a particular firm's strategy or a broader market; similarly, case studies in politics can range from a narrow happening over time (e.g., a specific political campaign) to an enormous undertaking (e.g., a World War).
Generally, a case study can highlight nearly any individual, group, organization, event, belief system, or action. A case study does not necessarily have to be one observation (N=1), but may include many observations (one or multiple individuals and entities across multiple time periods, all within the same case study). Research projects involving numerous cases are frequently called cross-case research, whereas a study of a single case is called within-case research.Case study research has been extensively practiced in both the social and natural sciences.
I'm about to take a trig class and it's been a while since my last math class. I was wondering if you guys knew of any websites that have good trig study guides and study sheets? anything is appreciated! Thanks!
I'm not sure if this is the correct sub-forum to post in, but I am in need of some advice on what to do.
I am 24 years old and I live with my mom and my half-sister. I started my undergraduate career recently after a long feud with my mother. My mom says that a physics degree is useless, and...
So yeah, while I was at high school, I considered math as one of my career choices, but I was invited to the national math olympiads by my school and, even though I enjoyed them, I found them way too hard and looked on those who win it and most of them finish studying math and doing great on it...
I've come to these forums a lot, but I don't think I've ever really posted--so here goes number one.
I am a freshman in a large public university, and I just recently switched over to mathematics/economics as my majors. I was originally an engineering major, but I abandoned ship because it...
I was able to solve most of excercise questions in textbook when I was in high school, but as I expected, university level mathematics is really difficult. I have been studying baby Rudin but I cannot solve most of excercise questions unless I see the solution first. But I am really worried...
I want to study algebraic geometry and differential geometry, what should I learn beforehand
what is the relation between abstract algebra and homological algebra:confused:
Circuits knowledge required for physical electronics?
I'm planning to study physical electronics and device/semiconductor physics in grad school. My relevant undergrad physics classes consisted of quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, electromagnetism, circuits, experimental physics, and...
This semester I am enrolled in two independent study courses, one based on Spivak's Calculus and the other on Artin's Algebra. Since I'll be going at them alone (with some help from my supervising instructor), I'd like to see if anyone would like to work through either of them with me. I'm going...

I've never seen a limit like this before.
The only thing I have thought of is inserting random values of x to see it the limit...
Hey I am a math major looking to do an REU (and later a masters/PhD.) in nuclear engineering and I am interested in the field of reactor physics. I hear it tossed around a lot but I don't really know the definition of it. I'm taking a radiation physics class next semester at a separate...
I'm going into a career that is heavily based in physics and I'd like to be able to read the original source material for the physics involved. However, calculus was many, many years ago for me.
So, to understand and learn radiation physics, and eventually quantum mechanics, my understanding...
I am a Materials Science undergraduate, and love it! But I'm looking for something to get passionate about. Nothing fulfilling enough has caught my attention, although I have some promising leads. I've currently hit a wall in my search. Can you help me?
My leads:

So I'm currently in my last year of high school and I just completed my biology exam and I did quite poorly in it.. But the thing is I studied really hard for it, spent like an hour and a half every day before the exam (2 weeks). The way that I studied for that test however was by writing out...
I'm a senior in high school currently taking AP Physics BC (mechanics) without having taken a physics course previously. I normally do well in my classes as I'm 10th in my class and am taking the most difficult level of classes I can. I can't say this for my AP physics class, which I currently...
Homework Statement
f(x) = [x^2]sinπx, x ∈ R, being [x] the integer part of x
Homework Equations
The Attempt at a Solution
I'd say it's trivially continuos on all R, because it's the product of two continuos functions: y: = [x^2] and g: = sinπx.
However, being part of my...

I am a high schooler, I have studied a fair amount of calculus probably up to about calc i level, I then skipped some stuff and did the vector calculus chapters in my calc book because it seemed interesting, I did grasp all the concepts, but I'll admit my integration techniques were not yet calc...
Hi,
Is there a software that allows a group of people to be online together and explain stuff like physics and mathematics which includes shared screen and perhaps a shared drawing utility or math unitedly?
What would be some of the best options?
Hey guys,
I'm having difficulty deciding what I want to do next summer. I'm currently a junior, so this is the last opportunity I have to do an engineering internship. Last summer I did an REU. I know I want to go into the renewable energy field, but I don't know if I need to go to grad...

Do you study on every day of the week? If not, what day(s) of the week do you usually take off to have free time? "Studying" includes doing homework, any type of school work, and studying. On average, how many hours do you study per day? Per week? Do you give yourself free time, if you don't...
I am writing to ask you for advice on how I should go about studying for the upcoming Classical Mechanics exam. I would only be satisfied to get an A, nothing less, so I am willing to work hard. Although I realize that preparing for the midterm exam begins when the semester starts, I don't feel...
I have been spending most of my time studying math, for an eventual goal of electrical engineering degree. My question is, simply, other than math what should I be studying?
If one wanted to study fractals and their properties, which upper level undergraduate mathematics courses should one take? Or which sequence of generally offered courses should one take? Just to name a few courses that I guess would be related and are offered at the University I study at are...
I will not enter college for another few months, and have basically been going over everything I might need to learn for the college placement test, which for me meant starting at arithmetic and moving on up. Is there any advice for studying for the placement exam?
I have put this post in academic guidance because I am not looking for relationship advice, but for info about how easy it is keep friend and family ties when moving to study somewhere completely new, as well as the practicalities involved.
I'm considering graduate study in the USA(I'm from...
I am a freshman in university, and my major requires that I take a general chemistry course. I actually enjoyed chemistry in high school, so I actually am taking an honors chemistry course.
